Reconnaissance groups of deep recce provided correction of air strikes and additional reconnaissance of the landing area of the operational and tactical landing at the Mulino training ground
To ensure the correction of operational-tactical aviation strikes and additional reconnaissance of the landing area of the operational-tactical landing during the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2021, deep reconnaissance groups from the special purpose brigade of the Airborne Troops were withdrawn to the landing area.
The landing of deep reconnaissance units was carried out on the landing site of Zhitovo in the Ryazan region by parachute from Il-76MD military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces at an aircraft speed of about 360 km/h using high-altitude landing kits Junker-O, which includes a special-purpose parachute system Steyer and a set of oxygen equipment of domestic production Oxy Height, from an altitude of 8000 meters.
Following the scouts, various loads were thrown into the area of the operational-tactical landing on new samples of the PGS-1500 and UPGS-250 parachute cargo systems from a height of 1500 meters of heavy weapons, ammunition, reconnaissance and destruction equipment, food and other material weighing up to 1500 kg.
Also, from the An-26 aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces from an altitude of 2500 meters, a group of coordination and guidance of aviation on the target was landed on two Tandem-400S parachute systems and on four special-purpose parachute systems Dalnolet. At the same time, for the delivery of specialists who do not have parachute training, a special-purpose parachute system Tandem was used, which allows paratroopers to perform combat jumps with a passenger with equipment and cargo.
The joint strategic exercise (JSE) of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus takes place every two years in accordance with the decision taken by the heads of the two states.
The Zapad-2021 exercise is the final stage of joint training of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation this year.
Practical actions of the troops (forces) will take place in the period from 10 to 16 September 2021 at nine training grounds located on the territory of the Russian Federation, in the Baltic Sea, as well as at five training grounds of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus.
In total, up to 200 thousand personnel, about 80 aircraft and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, including 290 tanks, 240 guns, multiple rocket launchers and mortars, as well as up to 15 ships take part in the JSE Zapad-2021 on the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
The maximum number of personnel involved in the exercise of military units subject to the Vienna Document of 2011 in the territory of the Russian Federation will not exceed 6,400 military personnel.
The return of the military authorities and troops to the points of permanent deployment after participating in the exercise is planned until mid-October of this year.
