The competition Safe Environment revealed the most accurate marksmen of the NBC recce

At the Pesochnoe range (Yaroslavl region) of the training center of the Military Academy of nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection named after Marshal of the Soviet Union S.K. Tymoshenko, at a specially equipped section of the military shooting range, intended for practical shooting exercises, the second stage of the all-army competition for the best NBC reconnaissance crew Safe Environment was held.

Prior to the start of the stage, team representatives and participants were not informed about the exercises to be performed.

The stage consisted of exercises with a machine gun: short - Ambush, medium - Alarm, and long - Combat reconnaissance.

Participants performed the exercises in field uniforms, safety glasses (except for the exercise where a gas mask is required), headphones or earplugs, a helmet, and a bulletproof vest. In addition, each of the servicemen had a bag with a gas mask.

Practical shooting was performed from a Kalashnikov assault rifle at targets (IPSC targets) at a range of 15 to 100 meters with a change of firing position, where each participant performed one of the three exercises independently on their own site.

All three exercises demanded from the servicemen the skills of high-speed loading of weapons, the choice of an advantageous position to defeat targets, the ability to quickly move around the battlefield and firing from a machine gun from various inconvenient positions and at different distances.

The best result in this competition was demonstrated by cadets of the Timoshenko Military Academy of the NBC protection  and a representative of the Southern Military District.

The day before, an individual race was held at the Pesochnoye training ground.

As a result, the leading positions after two competitive stages were taken by the teams:

    1st place-Timoshenko Military Academy of the NBC protection; .

    2nd place - team of the Southern Military District;

    3rd place — the team of the Eastern Military District.

The Safe Environment competition consists of three stages — Individual Race, Fire training, Relay Race, during which each crew member will fulfill 26 standards for special training and NBC protection. The servicemen will overcome the obstacles of the competition track, take part in practical shooting, search for radioactive sources, remote chemical exploration and special processing.

The training ground of the NBCP Military Academy training center has become the first international-level training ground in the country for extreme driving of armored vehicles and practical shooting at a time with a change of firing position from small arms.

Currently, the unique Volga training ground is equipped with a fire-assault strip with a cable car, trenches, platforms for special processing, sampling, radiation control of equipment, chemical control and practical shooting.

The all-army stage was preceded by the qualifying stages of the competition. The first stage was held in formations and military units, the second — in formations, and the third-in the types and branches of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in military districts and in the Northern Fleet.

More than 1.3 thousand servicemen took part in the qualifying competitions.

The all-army stage of the Safe Environment contest will end on May 29. The winners of the competition will defend the honor of the Russian Army at the Safe Environment competition of the VII Army International Games, which will be held in August 2021.
