Small anti-submarine ship "Snezhnogorsk" went to the Barents Sea to perform artillery firing
Today, the small anti-submarine ship of the Kola Flotilla of the heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet "Snezhnogorsk", as part of the implementation of planned combat training activities, went to the Barents Sea to perform artillery firing.
As part of this training, the ship's crew will conduct a number of general ship exercises on anti-submarine and anti-aircraft defence, as well as the damage control training. Crews of the ship's artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M will perform artillery firing on coastal, surface and air targets.
Before returning to the base, the crew of the SAS "Snezhnogorsk" will have to work out a number of elements of the ship's anti-sabotage defence and conduct training on maneuvering in conditions of limited visibility and intensive navigation.
The SAS "Snezhnogorsk" is armed with anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M, jet bomb launchers RBU-6000 and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems. It is designed to search for and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone.
