Tactical exercises with the guards anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Novorossiysk guards airborne mountain unit started in the Crimea
At the Opuk training ground in the Republic of Crimea, a tactical exercise with the guards anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Novorossiysk guards airborne mountain unit has started, which will be held under the leadership of the Deputy commander of the Novorossiysk guards mountain unit – the head of the airborne service of the guards, Colonel Gennady Vinnik.
The day before, the regiment's units were transferred from Novorossiysk to the Crimean Peninsula by rail.
Within the framework of the exercise, the units will work out the issues of training and conducting combat operations by an anti-aircraft missile regiment to cover the units of the formation against attacks by the mock enemy air attack means during airborne operations and anti-airborne defence of the sea coast in the conditions of active exposure and use of electronic warfare and unmanned aerial vehicles of the enemy.
During the exercise, the anti-aircraft missile regiment will cover the military units and units of the formation during the march to the waiting areas, landing and conducting combat operations to capture the airfield, maneuver and capture the designated border, as well as ensuring the landing of the main forces of the formation.
In addition, the issues of organizing combat operations to cover the units of the formation during the defence of the sea coast section and entering the area of restoring combat capability, with the stage of combat firing from the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile systems and the Verba portable anti-aircraft missile systems, will be worked out.
In total, more than 500 servicemen and about 40 units of combat and special equipment of the guards anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Novorossiysk guards airborne mountain unit are involved in the exercise.
